Jerry Cantrell Embarks Finishing up a series of dates with labelmates Nickelback on the Jim
Beam Road to Rackhouse Tour, Jerry Cantrell has announced another summer tour with
rock powerhouse Creed. Kicking off on July 15th, the tour will support Cantrells
latest release Degradation Trip. Of his solo effort, the guitarist-vocalist
has been described as emotional, heartfelt and harrowing (Revolver); raw,
aggressive, and powerfully emotive (Modern Quarterback); brooding and wry
(Album Network); bleak, dark and confessional (MTV.com); an evolving
solo presence (LA Weekly). In July, Cantrell will lend this presence to music television. The artist has
been confirmed to host three days of MTV2s The Rock Show early in the
month. Specific dates and times are to be announced. In addition, the video for his
first single Anger Rising has been added to MuchUSAs Ovenfresh segment.
The video was filmed in Los Angeles, CA with acclaimed director and designer Paul
Brown (Motley Crue, Marilyn Manson) at the helm. The single, which impacted radio in
mid-April, climbed the rock chart so quickly that the albums original street date of
June 25th has been pushed to June 18th. For the recording of Degradation Trip,
Jerry Cantrell enlisted the services of bassist Robert Trujillo (Suicidal Tendencies and
Ozzy Osbourne) and drummer Mike Bordin (Faith No More and Ozzy Osbourne). Cantrell
recorded the album himself with Trujillo and Borden at the legendary rock studios of
A&M. Radio & Records states that his sophomore solo effort
shows
Cantrell getting back on the horse that made him famous- solid songs, Dirt-y riffs and a
sound that shows the guitarist can refer to the past without living in it. Prepare to be blown away by an emotional and intense pure rock experience
when Jerry Cantrell and Creed team up to play a city near you. For tour and news
