"This Song is About Rodney King...It's Called 'Human Pinata'."

With so much new music out there, it has become increasingly difficult to find a band that has something that sets them apart. With it's combination of pounding rock, electronica and something futuristic, Videodrone is a band that has found a sort of sonic realm all their own. No less a group then Korn thought enough of Videodrone to sign the band to Korn's own Elementree Records label and take Videodrone out on the road with them and Rob Zombie on a national tour. The tour provides Videodrone the opportunity to support their self-titled debut on Reprise Records, which hit stores on February 23, 1999.

While the connection with longtime friends Korn may have afforded Videodrone some opportunities that might have otherwise been unavailable, it is their own sound that will bring them success. The distinctive vocals and stage presence of Ty Elam, along with guitarist David File, keyboardist/sampler Rohan and the rhythm section of bassist Mavis and drummer Kris Kohls seem to be a combination destined for success.

VOX had the opportunity to speak with Rohan prior to their February 18, 1999 performance with label mates Orgy at Pomona's Glass House and discuss the past, present and future of Videodrone.
