The New Meaning
of Loud:
Spineshank

Describing Spineshank as "loud" probably doesn't do them justice. In fact, it would be quite an understatement. Pounding. Brutal. Extreme. All are accurate. All apply. But the best description may be the title of their latest record, The Height of Callousness (Roadrunner). Filled with the effects of depression, anger and frustration, The Height of Callousness follows the "take no prisoners" approach to heavy rock. It's easy to feel the calluses that have grown on the member's souls from the rigorous touring and recording schedules they've followed over the past few years.

The album was produced by Gggarth Richardson (Rage Against the Machine, Kittie) at Mushroom Studios in Vancouver, BC, Canada, and mixed by Scott Humphrey (Rob Zombie, Methods of Mayhem) and Frank Gryner at the Chop Shop in Hollywood, CA. The team did a commendable job of transferring the Spineshank live presence to vinyl and laying new cement in the realm of heavy rock.

On tour is support of the new record, guitarist Mike Sarkisyan took some time out from his busy schedule to call VOX and tell us what Spineshank is all about. Check it out and be sure to enter the Spineshank contest.
