>> Saliva's Josey Scott dropping some 'F' bombs. >>

Hollywood [12:4:02] - Though trudging on treacherous ground, Saliva staged-dived into the dark hole of international politics at a recent House of Blues show with a battle cry that echoed louder than their teeth-grinding dual guitars.

“We’re not a political band but…but here goes a fat, fucketey finger to those fucking terrorists,” screamed burly lead singer Josey Scott, about a quarter into the set.  “If I were G.W…it would be

raining nuclear bombs in the Middle East.”

Harsh even by Hollywood Sunday evening standards, the proclamation produced raised fists in tacit approval as Scott responded with “Pride,” from their sophomore release, the recently released Back Into Your System.

Though the politics may be new ground for Saliva, not much has changed for the band in performance, nor in their hip-hop influenced signature sound.  Scott still dominates the stage like a stalker without a victim, cautiously delivering his melodic verses, his body pulsating to the rhythm section dominated by the long haired, and often faceless, Dave Novotny on bass.

Notably, Scott does sing, which arguably puts him and his Memphis-based act on steadier ground in contrast to many of the trivial rap/rock bands that dominated in the late 1990’s.  His recent title hit off the super-successful “Spiderman” soundtrack, in a collaborative effort with Nickleback’s Chad Kroeger, demonstrates his versatility in his art.

For now Josey Scott has a license for his soapbox tirades and can preach to the choir, because his audience is listening with an appetite for more.
