The term "power trio" is most often used to describe a band consisting of guitar, bass and drums, with one of the members singing. The standard electronic act usually consists of one or two members, and lots of keyboards, computers and the like. Lunatic Calm brings the best of both of those worlds together. They bring together pulsating beats, heavy guitars, the great vocals of lead singer sHack and combine them with a frenzy of intense sounds and you end with some of the greatest electronic-rock being made today. Lunatic Calm’s music can be classified as electronica, but with rhythms being pounded out by Dez, and Howie moving between guitars and keys, Lunatic Calm keep the people rocking.

VOX had the pleasure of seeing and feeling Lunatic Calm perform on September 26, 1998 at The Shrine in Los Angeles with The Crystal Method in what can only be called a rave. Their music had the crowd buzzing with question: "Who are these guys?" If you haven’t heard of them, chances are you have heard them. They contributed a remix to Bush’s "Deconstructed" CD, had a song on the Mortal Kombat soundtrack, and they have a cut on the soundtrack to the new film The Matrix. If you’re looking for music that will entrance you and make you want to dance, Lunatic Calm is the answer.

VOX also had the opportunity to spend some time with Lunatic Calm prior to their performance in LA. Click the "Interview" button below to check it out…
