KITTIE -
The New First Ladies of Rock

Aren't young girls supposed to be at home, chatting about the latest boy band, listening to the bubble gum pop being churned out by the newest little blond star that the mainstream media has created? Not if you're Kittie you don't. Time to throw out all the stereotypes here, fellas. These women rock as hard, if not harder, than you do, and they'll kick your ass if you're not careful. And their age should make you take even closer notice, not pan them as a trend, 'cause what you're getting from Kittie is just the beginning of what will be long careers.

It's about the music, right? So don't expect some 80's style T&A pop rock. Kittie, comprised of singer/guitarist Morgan Lander, sister Mercedes on drums, Talena on bass and dynamo Fallon Bowman on guitar, put forth aggressive, gritty and resounding metal. Think Metallica circa Ride The Lightning in its construction; still raw and fresh, with the promise of what is to come, and you'll get the idea of what Kittie's debut release Spit (Artemis/Ng Records) is all about. They will only get better.

They're out with Ozzfest now, and Kittie is not to be missed. "We try to put on the best show we can," says Mercedes, "And fill it with lots of energy and rock."

Trust us, we've seen it firsthand. She isn't kidding.

Prior to Kittie hitting the Ozzfest trail, we had the chance to talk to Mercedes about what these ladies are all about - check it out.
